Pallet Flow Rack in Tulsa, OK
Pallet flow rack in Tulsa should be evaluated against inventory rotation and building geometry together, not against storage height alone. Inclined roller lanes move pallets by gravity from a replenishment face to a separate retrieval face. For date-sensitive goods and high-volume SKUs, this gives FIFO stock a defined travel path while allowing loading and picking to happen on opposite sides.
Food and beverage distribution is one application to examine, but the same questions apply to repeated production supplies: how many matching pallets are present, how quickly do they leave, and must the oldest receipt ship first? A system sized around those answers can be compared meaningfully with selective rows or LIFO pushback instead of treating every deep-storage arrangement as interchangeable.
Build gravity flow rack around controlled movement
At replenishment, an operator places a pallet onto the upper end of the roller lane. The load advances toward the lower picking end as space becomes available. Brakes or speed controllers limit travel speed, and the discharge arrangement governs presentation during retrieval. Those components need to work across the approved range of pallet weights, including relatively light loads.
Match the pallet underside
Assess runner layout, board spacing, and the condition of contact surfaces. A broken or inconsistent base can stop moving even if the rack framing has ample capacity for its weight.
Evaluate length and incline together
Lane length affects the quantity stored and the travel path. Slope must be selected with rollers, pallet contact, and controls so advancement is predictable rather than dependent on an operator pushing reluctant loads.
Keep dates in the workflow
Check receipt dates and lot identification before placement. The rack presents pallets in loading order; it cannot correct a receiving decision that places stock into the wrong channel or reverses the required sequence.
Document the operating limits
Include approved pallet styles, weight limits, and inspection points in the handoff. Demonstrate representative load travel and retrieval before normal stocking, and establish how staff should report a stopped or damaged lane.
Pallet flow rack makes rotation a layout decision
FIFO relies on loading at one face and withdrawing at the other, with each lane assigned to compatible inventory. Pushback handles both actions from one side and normally retrieves the newest loaded pallet first. Where age or lot sequence governs dispatch, that distinction can outweigh the advantage of a single operating aisle.
Deep lanes work best when repeat stock fills and turns through them. Retain direct-access locations for short runs, unusual pallets, and slow-moving lines. Compare the number of useful product faces with peak inventory instead of assigning maximum depth to every SKU and finding that much of the capacity sits behind the wrong product.

Operations We Rack Around Here
A warehouse near the airport and North Mingo may connect with US-169, I-244, and the Gilcrease Expressway, yet its internal pallet paths still depend on door placement. Newer bulk buildings with 32–36+ ft clear height offer a different vertical planning envelope from older West Tulsa facilities with 18–24 ft clear height. Confirm the actual dimensions, lift capability, and usable working space before choosing levels or orienting lanes for a distribution operation.
Plan pallet flow racking from floor to working faces
Height is only one part of the usable envelope. Allow for pallet and product height, the roller assembly, lane slope, and lift access at every proposed level. On the floor, reserve separate approaches for replenishment and picking while maintaining space for receipts and completed orders outside those aisles.
We supply new equipment and arrange installation through experienced crews whose scheduling and work are managed for the agreed scope. Tulsa Pallet Rack, a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., brings a storage supply and installation service operating since 1997 to that planning process.
