    Drive-In Rack in Tulsa, OK

Drive-in rack in Tulsa turns repeated pallet quantities into deep storage lanes, reducing the floor area devoted to access aisles. It ranks among the densest storage choices for many pallets of a few SKUs. That advantage depends on stock concentration: a broad assortment of small balances needs a different access strategy.

Food and beverage reserves and cold storage are natural applications to evaluate, while aerospace parts inventories require closer attention to individual access and lot separation. The product category alone does not decide suitability. Actual pallet quantities, handling units and withdrawal rules determine whether deep lanes will work.

We work as a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., supplying and installing since 1997. Our layout discussion connects building height, truck capability and pallet support with the way receiving and shipping already operate, rather than treating the storage block as an isolated piece of equipment.

The operating pattern behind drive-in rack

Continuous rails carry pallets along the sides of each drive-in pallet rack lane, and forklifts drive inside the structure to place or collect them. The lane must accommodate the complete loaded truck movement, including entry alignment and elevated placement.

    1

    One end establishes LIFO

Drive-in storage has one open end, so the last pallet placed is retrieved first. Reserve it for inventory whose rotation and lot assignments can accept that sequence.

    2

    Two ends allow directed flow

Drive-thru racking opens both faces and can support FIFO when loads enter one side and leave the other. Plan working aisles and disciplined traffic at each face.

    3

    Truck geometry sets dimensions

Mast height, width and turning clearance decide the lane dimensions and approach space. Verify the intended truck at the highest storage position as well as at floor level.

    4

    Support follows pallet construction

Size rails and guides for the loaded pallet, its underside bearing points and maximum weight. Include actual load overhang and pallet variation in the support and clearance review.

Where drive-in pallet rack adds usable capacity

Bulk reserve inventory is the starting point: enough matching pallets to fill lanes without mixing products that require separate access. Compare lane depth with normal stock quantities and separate lot requirements. Peak inventory alone can make a deep layout look more useful than it will be during ordinary weeks.

Cooler and freezer cube savings come from storing pallets where additional aisles would otherwise consume conditioned space. Review truck and pallet suitability for the storage temperature. Rotation remains a separate requirement, especially where product dates determine the order in which loads must leave.

Selective rack is a stronger fit for direct access to every pallet across a changing assortment. Pushback can provide depth while keeping trucks in the aisle. Consider the handling pattern, pallet compatibility and accessible stock balance before choosing between these arrangements.

    Operations We Rack Around Here

Newer 32–36+ ft clear tilt-wall bulk distribution buildings around North Mingo Industrial Park and the Tulsa International Airport area offer a different vertical envelope from older 18–24 ft clear West Tulsa stock. For sites using US-169 / I-244 / Gilcrease Expressway, we also account for delivery staging while fitting drive-in rack lanes to each building’s usable height.

Protect and fit your Tulsa drive-in rack

Guide rails help define the travel path; column guards and rail-end protection address vulnerable contact areas. Include those parts when checking clearances, particularly at lane entrances. A protective feature must not narrow the working envelope below what the selected truck requires.

Taller storage does not automatically mean more usable levels. Check loaded pallet heights, placement clearance and truck lift capability against the available building envelope. In lower-clearance stock, choosing appropriate lane depth may matter more than pursuing an extra vertical position.

Installation planning should separate component staging from live dock traffic and maintain access to stock still in use. Mostly non-air-conditioned buildings may need heat-conscious daily sequencing. Spring severe weather, hail and winter ice can affect delivery arrangements, so discuss how schedule changes will be communicated.

High volume of a small number of SKUs
Seasonal or buffer inventory held in bulk
Cold storage and freezer rooms where cube matters most
Product too fragile to floor-stack more than two high
Buildings where floor space, not height, is the binding constraint
