Yes, when the system and installation are selected for outdoor exposure and the supporting surface. Discuss finish, drainage, anchoring and protection of the stored goods before choosing an exposed location.

Does heavier stock always need longer arms?

No. Bundle depth determines required reach, while weight and load distribution determine the needed rating. A shallow heavy bundle can require a shorter arm with a higher capacity than a deep light bundle.

Can we extend a Pryor run later?

Prepare the Floor and Installation Area

Base anchoring must be planned with the selected cantilever rack configuration and supporting slab. Review floor condition and base locations before the installation crew mobilizes. The footprint also needs to account for base projections, nearby production equipment and the approach to doors used for long loads.

Confirm whether the intended truck is a side-loader or a conventional forklift. Test the proposed aisle against turning movement, load length, lift height and rated handling capacity. A wide-looking aisle may still fail when the operator turns a projecting bundle toward the arms.

Indoor storage needs measured clearance above the highest planned load, not merely a building height from a drawing. Outdoor use adds questions about finish, drainage, supporting surfaces and material exposure. Installation staging should also account for summer heat or weather-related access changes without leaving loose components in active travel routes.

Cantilever Rack Supports: Four Linked Choices

Choose cantilever rack components as a rated system rather than assembling a layout from individual advertised capacities. The intended load levels, arm positions and weight distribution must be checked together so the complete run supports the stated storage plan.

Fit the actual bundle

Arm length follows the depth of the bundle, while arm capacity follows the weight delivered to that support. Include support accessories in the assessment.

Balance the overhang

For appropriate rigid stock, start with arms spaced roughly half the load length apart and even end overhang. Verify sag behavior before using that spacing for flexible sections.

Contain round material

Straight arms serve many flat bundles. Inclined arms with suitable lips help retain round stock, with additional containment considered for loose pieces and handling conditions.

Choose the loading arrangement

Single-sided runs offer access from one face. Double-sided runs need a usable aisle on both faces and a plan for traffic approaching either side.
