Cantilever Rack in Bixby, OK
Cantilever rack in Bixby gives long inventory a clear loading face instead of forcing it between pallet-rack uprights. Arms project from upright columns, leaving the front unobstructed so a forklift can place a bundle across several supports without threading it through a framed opening.
Start with the material, not a nominal bay size. Bar, pipe, tube and lumber need support along their length; sheet goods and furniture may need a different arm surface or added decking. We review bundle weight, depth, length and handling method before selecting a cantilever storage rack.
We are a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., supplying and installing since 1997. Our planning starts with usable floor space and a load list, then works through rack arrangement, anchoring and installation access.
Why cantilever rack suits long inventory
With cantilever rack as the alternative, a long bundle resting in a short pallet bay can be awkward to handle and poorly supported. Open-front storage lets the operator approach the material along its length, while individually spaced arm levels separate sizes that would otherwise be stacked together on the floor.
Cantilever racking is a strong fit when length or shape makes pallets impractical. Selective pallet rack remains the better starting point for standard palletized cartons and goods needing beam-supported pallet positions. A mixed warehouse can use both systems, with a clear transfer area rather than an aisle that serves competing movements.
Choose single-sided cantilever rack rows against a suitable perimeter or double-sided rows where both faces can be reached. Double-sided storage needs working aisles on each side; its footprint is more than the steel base alone. Check the longest carried load through every turn.

Operations We Rack Around Here
For flex buildings near Memorial Drive and wholesale/building-materials operations along 121st Street, the layout should separate incoming bundles from picked orders. Door positions and shared work areas help determine which direction the arms face.
How cantilever racking supports the bundle
The load path runs from material to arms, columns, bases and floor. Each part must suit the same loading plan; an arm rating alone does not establish the capacity of the assembled row.
Arm reach and rating
Set arm length from actual bundle depth so the material is fully supported. Use bundle weight and the number of engaged arms to select capacity, allowing for uneven weight distribution.
Support spacing
As an initial guide, place supporting arms roughly half the load length apart with even end overhang. Check that arrangement against material stiffness and sag before settling column locations.
Arm shape
Straight arms suit stable flat loads, while inclined arms with lips help retain round stock. Retaining lips are not a substitute for a sound bundle-restraint and handling plan.
Base connection
Anchor bases to a suitable concrete floor using the specified connection details. Confirm floor condition, column alignment and base clearances before loading the installed structure.
Plan access before setting the first base
Bring the truck dimensions into the drawing early. A conventional forklift needs room to carry the full load through the aisle and turn at the row ends. A side-loader may suit long stock, but its travel path and approach still need to be checked with the actual machine.
Indoor cantilever rack storage needs clearance for lifting, roof structure and overhead services. Outdoor use calls for a finish suited to exposure, a suitable supporting slab and a review of weather effects on the stored material. Do not assume an indoor specification transfers unchanged to an open yard.
For largely non-air-conditioned space, stage unloading and assembly around summer heat. Spring storms or winter ice can change the installation sequence; agree where incoming steel and displaced inventory can wait without blocking receiving.
